My wife (Anita) and I first met Larissa when she and her great family moved in next door. The Word Pilates was just that, a word. Over a period of time Larissa convinced Anita and I to join her first Pilates’ group class in Jan 2011 held weekly at the Terrigal Surf Life Saving club. While we were both relatively active both Anita and I felt that we could benefit from attending Larissa’s Introductory Pilates course of 10 weeks, “just to check it out” Almost immediately we noticed a physical improvement, in particular the level of flexibility in areas where there had been less movement in for example my left hip and shoulder. At the completion of the 10 week course our ability to control our various body movements improved immeasurably. Larissa’s first class averaged approximately 10 -12 persons per session, this offered Larissa the opportunity to provide one on one assistance when necessary from which everyone who attended benefited in some way. Larissa always demonstrated a very high level of skill, knowledge and care making sure each participant was never at risk of sustaining any injury. Larissa’s aim was ensure that we had an enjoyable experience extending ourselves in a safe and at times a very humorous environment. I continued to attend Larissa’s two subsequent group classes over the following months, culminating in regular one on one sessions held over most of 2012. These sessions proved invaluable for me, with Larissa’s expertise I was able to improve my core strength and flexibility to the point where I was able to confidently participate in mountain bike riding and running allowing me to improve my all-round fitness levels. When an injury occurred, Larissa was able to adapt her deep understanding of Pilates to focus on improving my strength and stability without impacting on any injury I was currently affected by. Often Larissa was able to apply corrective exercises to help the healing process. Larissa at one point took the trouble research the muscular arm and shoulder movements involved in the Golf swing in an effort to improve my control. This was the type of involved and caring approach Larissa always demonstrated throughout my time with her as a Pilates instructor!! As is often the case all good things come to at least a temporary end, Larissa left the Central Coast for the North Shore of Sydney to further her professional career. Anita and I have benefited greatly from our time under Larissa’s training as will other individuals who choose to take on her Aspires Pilates classes in the future. Good Luck to you, you will be is great hands.”Malcolm Parsons

Initially I sought out Aspire Pilates for help with my core stability. However working with Larissa through both mat based classes and later through personalised studio instruction I have learnt to appreciate far reaching benefits. Improved flexibility, posture and stress release to name a few. As someone who has an arthritic condition, it was great to have an instructor who could both design and modify exercises as necessary. My teenage daughter has also enjoyed Pilates with Larissa’s personalised approach and it’s been wonderful to find that it’s something we can do togeMalcolm Parsons
